Romney Hosted At Luncheon With University Alum

MINNEAPOLIS–A University alum and former trustee with close ties to Republican candidate John McCain and many highly influential neo-conservatives hosted a lunch for former McCain rival Mitt Romney Tuesday at the Marriot here.

Mark Broxmeyer, a Long Island real estate developer who, while he served on the University’s Board of Trustees, was sued in May 2006 by Latino tenants of his for actions they said violated the Fair Housing Act. The case was settled out of court in November of that year.

Broxmeyer would not answer any questions from The Chronicle outside the luncheon as he walked with Romney to the elevator across a lobby area.

  1. Too bad you couldn’t get any photos or video of Broxmeyer. He’s very hard to find on AP images/Getty/Newscom. Good job at getting Romney on camera though, very impressive.
